Processing and Export of Nile Perch
East African Sea Foods' started processing and exporting Nile Perch with their plant in Nairobi, Kenya but was subsequently moved to Kisumu, Kenya where a state-of-the-art processor was installed with an improved capacity to handle 3,500 metric tonnes per annum.
Kenya was initially chosen because of her relatively well-developed infrastructure but her share of Lake Victoria is only 6%. The demand for fresh water products necessitated further development into Uganda and Tanzania that have a bigger share of Africa's biggest fresh water lake.

Trawling, Freezing on-board and export of Prawns
East African Seafoods operates three European Union-approved Trawlers for its Indian Ocean Operations. These are:
- Alpha Serengeti (EU approval Number.13/WB/KEN)
- Alpha Manyara (EU approval Number. 12/WB/KEN)
- Alpha Amboseli (EU approval Number. 14/WB/KEN)
The fishing season runs from March to September each year in shallow water and October to February in Deep Sea. The main products from this operation are the head on prawns which are frozen on board. The by-catch of sea fish is sold locally.
Inland Logistics Services
East African Seafoods owns and operates 30 Prime movers for movement of the fresh and frozen seafood products of its own and other in the Alpha Group of companies in East Africa.
This in-house service ensures that the cold storage and freight service is well maintained for these delicate yet delicious products.
Import and domestic distribution of Seafood Products
East African Seafoods imports and distributes seafood products like the Pacific Mackerel, Jack Mackerel, Herrings and Sardines to various parts of the world
